Why do we need subtitles? They take up space on the screen. Because the speaker’s accent is too heavy; because the recording is poor; because we’re all deaf.

    Though, subtitles are particularly useful if the viewer does not understand the language spoken in the video. Like Korean dramas and anime.

    Heh very true! I don’t watch Korean dramas and anime – a very big reason why your point slipped my mind.

    And that was one WTF of a video…
